This apartment has never before been on the market and was completely stripped and renovated by the current owner in 2013.
The house carries an incredible history. Most people know Barry Manilow’s famous song Copacabana, and as it turns out, it was ‘Lola’ who lived in this very apartment during the late 1940s and 1950s. According to the story, the Copacabana nightclub was owned by a Cuban mobster named Rico Castelli. In 1947, he fell in love with two Copa Girls. When he kidnapped one of them, people from the Copacabana rescued her. When Lola, the damsel in distress, met up with her boyfriend, Castelli tried to shoot them both. However, his girlfriend intervened and shot him in the back before he could. After that incident, Lola could no longer stay in America and fled to Marbella, where she lived in this apartment in solitude.
